What To Expect On The Weekends
Welcome to Basic Training, Children’s Ministries early childhood program.
Reaching kids from infancy through 5 years of age, programs for these children are going on during weekend services and in conjunction with other ministries happening almost every day of the week !
Feel free to head straight to the classroom, or, if you have time, go to The Hangar Registration Counter and register your child to get your “quick pass” tag for checking your child(ren) in to their perspective classrooms.
Upon arrival you will be greeted by any number of Basic Training team members found wearing the (orange) shirts. If you are heading to the Infant or Toddler Room with your baby or steady walker, please make sure that all your child’s belongings are marked with his/her name. It is helpful if your child has been fed and diaper changed as our caregivers love to play with your children during the short time they’re here.
When you arrive in the room you will check in your child through our Check-In system which prints name tags for your child’s back, diaper bag and one for us to keep for our roster. Let the Basic Training caregiver know of any needs your child might have in the way of nursing mom, bottle, pacifier, special blanket, cup, etc. Take the numbered vibrating pager to keep in your pocket or clip to yourself so you can feel the vibration if we need you to return to your child’s room. You MUST have the pager to pick up your child--we will NOT turn your child over to anyone who does not bring the pager, even mom or dad!
Please note that we will not give any snacks from your diaper bag to toddlers. We do provide Graham Crackers and because of the rise of food allergies, we do not provide anything else. If your child does have any food allergies, always notify the room caregiver of this! Please note that we do have a nursing room for you nursing moms--a quiet room with rocking chairs to nurse and watch the service on TV-- adjacent to the Infant Room 117.
Your child will play in the classroom or may be taken for a buggy ride in the indoor hallways. If your baby is fussy and inconsolable, we will page you asking you to come to your child’s room immediately.
If your child is 2 years-5 years, their morning will be more structured as they will travel through a morning Bible story time, craft making, music & puppet time, snack time (consisting of either Graham Crackers, Nilla Wafers, or Gold Fish Crackers) and lots of creative play! When you come to the door to check your child in, please make sure to have any belongings such as diaper bags, cups, coats, etc. marked with your child’s name. You will sign your child in on the clipboard sign-in sheet and receive a numbered security tag that you MUST present to pick up your child. For the safety of all the children, your child will NOT be released to anyone who doesn’t have the security tag, even if your child knows them!
